I have a question on a program. I need some I.T. training.
Help Center is a great self-help resource for a variety of I.T. questions. Visit Help Center at https://helpcenter.usawest.org or access from your Western Territory Homepage bookmark (see “What should I do first?). Type a keyword in the “I need help with…” box and press Enter. Articles from the Knowledge Base will appear. Often times you can solve a problem quickly this way.
Quick Tip: Type Orientation in the “I need help with…” box and download “IT Orientation 2018,” an extensive guide covering Office 365, Outlook, OneDrive, Sharepoint, mobile apps, and more….highly recommended!
I want to take an I.T. class. I need some in-depth I.T. training.
I.T. runs weekly webinar classes for more personalized and in-depth training.
To view the schedule and sign up for classes, visit the AgilePoint Workcenter by
clicking on the IT Classes or AgilePoint tiles to access from the Western Territory Homepage bookmark.
I need to connect to the CFOT network.
Normally you will be connected to USWInternal. This is the regular network for day-to-day operations and the one you log on with AD (Active Directory) credentials.
If you need to connect to USWExternal, the off-domain wireless network, you will need to:
> Open your Network and Sharing Center (click on 4-bar icon from taskbar)
> Select: USWExternal
> Enter wireless password: love others
How do I access shared network drives?
> Right-click on Windows icon in lower left corner of your screen
> Click on Open Windows Explorer
> You will see the C:, O:, R:, and T: drives
C: drive is the hard drive on your local computer, i.e., your laptop
O: drive is the Office Drive. You will find a lot of CFOT material here
R: drive is the Regional Drive
T: drive is the Territorial Drive
How do I manage my passwords?
You need to change your password every 90 days. You will receive an automatic pop-up about two weeks before your password is set to expire. Follow the prompt and change your password.
If you need to change your password before the expiration date, search for Password in Help Center, and click on the TSA Domain—Password Change Utility link. This is an easy way to change your AD password. It is advisable to also change your Lotus Notes password to simplify things.
How do I find a person or mailing groups in Outlook?
> From within an email in Outlook, click on the To button
> In the pop-up box, type in a keyword. First names work well.
> To find groups, it’s easiest to start with the command
abbreviation. Type in CC to find CFOT mailing groups.
