Making an audio or video call
If you have a microphone, a headset or speakers and a web camera attached to your computer, you can use Skype for Business to make and receive audio and video calls. Most new laptops will come already equipped with speakers, a microphone and a web camera.
Skype for Business automatically detects your audio and video devices, but before making a call we recommend that you check your settings. To do this:
1. Select the Options menu icon (â icon).
2. Select Tools -> Audio ( or Video) Device Settings.
To make a call
1. Locate your contact and place your cursor on top of their picture.
2. Click the audio or video icon.
Note: You can also right click the contact's name, and select Call or Start a Video Call.
When you call a contact, an alert pops up on their screen. To accept the call they can click anywhere in the photo area of the pop up (they can also reject the call).
Once the call is in progress, you can stop sharing video, audio (mute) and you can also end the call.
