Lotus Notes Sametime chat (instant messaging) Changes
Due to new security requirements, we will be changing our Sametime Server Community to a new standard. The following steps are needed to switch over to the new server settings.
In Lotus Notes, click File > Preferences.
At the Preferences screen, expand the Sametime section, select the Server Communities option,
and then click the Reset User button.
Old Host Server Community stime.usw.salvationarmy.org (This can be Removed if it does not automatically disappear)
New Host Server Community sametime.salvationarmy.org (Hitting Reset User should add this)
Click Yes, to continue.
At the, Log In to Sametime screen,
· Click the Connectivity… button.
At the Connectivity screen,
· Place a checkmark on Automatically log in
(Note: Remember password will be grayed out. It is not used and does not matter if it is checked or unchecked.)
· Place a checkmark on Use token based single sign on
· Verify or set Authentication Type to Domino Single Sign On
(Authentication Server is left blank)
· Click the OK button to go back to the Sametime 8.5.1 Log In screen
Back at the Log In to Sametime screen, click the Log In button.
(Note: User name and password are not used and can be left blank. Sametime is using a Domino Single Sign On instead.)
Groups: Notes Groups are empty. They do not transfer to the new server community. We are working on a possible solution.
Buddy Lists: We are also working to fix the ‘Buddy Lists’ which currently show duplicates for some people. However it still works just fine. Duplicates can deleted.
