Outlook - Group Membership
The Corps Management software tracks group membership for every NSS line, including option code lines such as Women’s ministries. If you set up the main group membership and attendance group membership in Corps Management properly, the data will be available for import in the appropriate Turbo Stats form. If you set up your groups properly, it will also help when taking meeting attendance, and it will facilitate communication with a specific group.
Managing group membership
Some groups may have special attendance groups that you want to break out separately. For example, you might have a teen group that meets on Wednesday nights, and another teen group that meets on Friday nights. You can track these separately using attendance groups.
Look at the “group” column highlighted in red. Some of these members are in no group, others are in the Junior YPL group or Sr. YPL group, and some people are in both groups.
If you double click on any row in the grid, you will get to a screen where you can manage the member's attendance groups and overall group membership status.
Please keep in mind that some of the fields you see on these two screens may only apply to troops. We will remove these fields when we move to our new troop management component.
Managing attendance groups
Adding a new attendance group is easy. Simply click on the “Add a group” link and type in the new attendance group name.
Some groups, like Women’s Ministries have option codes connected to them. When you add a new attendance group to an option code group, you are asked to select a NSS option code from the dropdown before saving your new attendance group.
Just like our teen group example, people can be members of multiple option code attendance groups. Group membership tracked here is available for import into Turbo Stats at the end of the month.
As with the main groups, you can limit the list of people who should be attending a meeting based on attendance group membership. Here is an example Home League meeting, with the attendance list filtered based on group membership.
Our mobile app also uses group membership to filter the list of possible attendees.
Communicating with groups
Once your groups are setup properly, you can quickly get an email list. It is also possible to filter some reports based on group membership such as the Avery Label mailing list.
